FORMULASI DAN UJI EFEKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI SEDIAAN GEL HAND SANITIZER EKSTRAK METANOL UMBI KEMBANG SUNGSANG (Gloriosa superba Linn.) TERHADAP Escherichia coli

Gloriosa (Gloriosa superba Linn.) is one of many plants for treating various ailments including infections. The latter contain secondary metabolic compounds are alkaloid, tannin, saponin, steroids, and coagulated glycoside as antibacterial. The study aims to identify the antibacterial activities of methanol gloriosa bulbs in the hand sanitizer supply against Esherichia coli. The method used in this study is disc diffusion. The grain of brewers is extracted by 96% methanol in the way that maseration is later produced in the willingness hand sanitizer formulation. Antibacterial activity testing is done using disc diffusion methods using three different concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20%. The results showed that the hand sanitizer gel formula of methanol extract of breech flower tubers with a concentration of 5%, 7.5% and 10% respectively contained an inhibition zone with an average of 9.37 mm, 10.23 mm, and 15.25 mm. . The formula of hand sanitizer gel of methanol extract of sungsang flower tubers (G. superba Linn.) Has the requirements for the physical evaluation of the preparation from the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, and viscosity test according to SNI number 06-2588 of 2017. The results of the physical evaluation of the preparation shows that the hand sanitizer gel formula is 5%; 7.5%; and 10% brownish yellow, unique extract odor, homogeneous, with an average pH for each concentration of 5.9; 5.8; and 6,2 and the average viscosity of each concentration is 9,275 cps; 11,375 cps; and 13,350 cps. The physical evaluation data of preparations were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables, while the data for the antibacterial effectiveness test were statistically analyzed using one way ANOVA, which obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 (? = 5%).
